Spring 2010 Child Care![]() Kindergarten CountsChildren attending morning kindergarten at Paddock, Lincoln, Sanborn, Virginia Lake, Winston, Pleasant Hill, Marion Jordan or Jane Addams schools can attend an extension program at Buehler that provides enrichment programming until 4pm. Transportation is provided by District 15 for Paddock, Sanborn and the YMCA for Winston, Lincoln, Virginia Lake, Pleasant Hill, Marion Jordan, Pleasant Hill, and Jane Addams. Children begin their day at the Y with a hot lunch. Afternoon programming emphasizes fun and socialization with friends along with a kindergarten enrichment program. Each day children participate with their teachers in a fitness activity. Swimming on Monday; Gymnastics on Tuesday; Yoga on Wednesday; Music on Thursday; and Physical Education on Friday, all of which are included in the monthly fee. Field trips and class parties are scheduled throughout our year. $450/month (2009-2010 school year) (+ $30 non-refundable registration fee) *Children may join the Y-Link After School program directly following Kindergarten Counts until 6pm if needed. Licensed After-School CareY-Link The Buehler YMCA operates an in-house, state-certified after school program throughout the school year. Students attending the following District 15 schools are provided transportation to our facility and benefit from the resources Buehler YMCA has to offer. The schools serviced are Winston Churchill, Paddock, Virginia Lake, Sanborn, Jane Addams, Pleasant Hill, Marion Jordan and Lincoln. Y-Link students are able to take advantage of the member rate for classes taken at the YMCA during the Y-Link program hours and Kids' Days Out, provided they are a five days per week participant. Registration - A non-refundable registration fee of $30 is required to enroll a child in this program. Enrolles are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Fees are billed on a monthly basis. *Fees are based on 180 days of school and broken into 9 monthly payments. Kids Day OutHere's a solution to those teacher institute, school holiday, conference and student non-attendance days. Our "Kids' Day Out" Program, designed for children kindergarten through 6th grade, is a full day of entertainment for your child, which includes an off-site field trip or in-house entertainment, time in our adventure center and maze, arts and crafts, gym games, and a visit to our two pools. Bring a lunch, a drink in an unbreakable container, a snack, swimming suit, and towel. Your child does not have to be a YMCA member or a Y-LINK participant to attend. Drop-off starts as early as 7am and pick-up ends as late as 6pm. Your child must be pre-registered, no refunds for late or absent children. Please see our front desk for daily information two weeks prior to event. A current "Kids' Day Out" health form MUST be on file. If the person dropping off in the morning is not the person picking up in the evening, a note with the pick-up person's name must be on file. 6th Graders - Check out our cool Teens Day Out as well!

*(If child is five-day participant of the Link Afterschool program, they receive member rate.) Licensed PreschoolOur September-May preschool programs are designed for children ages 2½*-6. Our teachers are certified Early Childhood Education (ECE) educators who have their bachelor's degrees and early childhood endorsements. We use the Scholastic's Early Childhood Curriculum and follow weekly themes that incorporate four main subject areas each week: Reading Readiness (phonemic approach), math concepts, hands-on science and the social sciences are presented in a way that develops children's vocabulary and opens their minds to new concepts. Once each week our music teacher presents a music program that includes guitar, sing-along songs, sign language and seasonal sing-a-longs. Optional two day per week swimming lessons can extend your child's day with us. See 'licensed preschool swimming programs'. Priority for licensed preschool programs go to Buehler YMCA current preschool families first, members second and non-members third. Each preschool class has its own calendar, which generally follows Buehler's session schedule. Preference for openings is given to current participants and their siblings based on class availability. Please call LuAnn Wachsmuth for available openings. *Children do not have to be potty trained to be in our preschool, but if your child is not potty trained a parent/guardian must stay in the building in case the child needs to be changed. The teachers are not allowed to change diapers or pull-ups. Preschool Levels and FeesThe following children's class levels and pricing are for the 2010/2011 school year. Level I: The children in Level I are age 2 1/2-3 before Sep 1, 2010.
Swimming may be added for students in all our our preschool levels. The child must be 3 and fully potty trained. Teachers will transfer children from the class to the pool. Please see the Licensed Preschool Swimming section for times and fees. Licensed Preschool Swimming ProgramsThe licensed preschool swimming programs are only for children who are enrolled in the licensed preschool program. Child must be three years old and fully potty trained. $75/session; child must be registered each session at Member Services Desk for the lessons.
Parents Day OutOn Wednesdays, children attending our licensed preschool who are enrolled in Pre-K may extend their day to 2pm. Level II children may attend with the approval of their preschool teacher. This program includes a hot lunch, physical games, art activities, and lots of fun with friends. Our own preschool teachers run this program. A maximum of 20 children with preregistration required.
