Fitness Classes for Members

 

West Communities offers a variety of fitness classes for everyone! A schedule of times, days, and class locations is posted every session. Please check with the Membership Desk for a current schedule. All classes whether free or fee-based requires registration. This vital information will allow us to alert participants of emergency cancellations or substitutions. Classes must achieve minimum enrollment standards to run. Each class requires a minimum of six participants and are subject to cancellation based on the number of individuals enrolled. Ages 12 and up may attend fitness classes with an adult participant or at the instructor's discretion.

 

Commit to Be Fit

 

Getting fit isn't easy. That's where the YMCA's Commit to be Fit Program can help. Best of all, it's FREE to members! Participants meet with a personal fitness coach four times during a 12-week period. Coaches will answer your questions, provide you with fitness equipment instruction and offer support and encouragement as you increase your activity level. Please sign up for an appointment at the Membership Desk. All youth between ages 10-15 must complete the "Commit to be Fit" program with a fit coach and wear ID bracelets to be in the Fitness center or use the equipment. A doctor's note is required to be part of the "Commit to be Fit" program.
Youth under 16 are not allowed in the free weight area.

 

ActivTrax

 

ActivTrax is now available at the West Communities YMCA. ActivTrax is a revolutionary, web-based virtual trainer program that takes the guesswork out of your workout - and it's free to West Communities YMCA members!
We've all been there - wondering what exercise to do, when to do them or even how to do them. That's why we've brought you ActivTrax! This "virtual trainer" serves as your workout partner and understands your wants, needs and goals. It's simple to use, very effective and easy to get started.

 

Kick Boxing Fitness - Beginner

 

Start out the day with a great workout! Led by a qualified instructor, this class increases cardio respiratory endurance, improves body composition, increases bone mineral density and improves balance-these are just a few of the benefits. Join us to begin your daily motivational, social and fun exercises.
