West Communities Fall 2010 Online Program Guide
Register for one of our fun-filled activities that fit your schedule. Each program runs five to seven weeks on days as indicated.
Led by qualified instructors, this moderate to high intensity water fitness class is designed to decrease your chances for lower back problems, improve your general appearance, reduce injury to muscles, improve sports performance, delay the aging process, control the appetite and control your body weight. If you feel awkward working out on land, you'd love it because no one is watching under water. Join us on Tuesdays to begin your total body workout. No swimming skills needed.
| Day | Time | M/NM |
| Tue | 9-9:45am | Free/$30 |
Led by qualified instructors, this high intensity class combines a cardiovascular and muscle workout using water resistance to build up strength and tone muscles. Join us on Tuesdays and Thursdays to begin your workout.
| Day | Time | M/NM |
| Tu/Th | 6-6:45pm | Free/$30 |
Taught by certified instructors of The Arthritis Foundation, this low intensity class is designed to increase your range of motion while taking advantage of the buoyancy and massaging affects of the water. Participants will enjoy physical activity that support joints, lessens the amount of stress to encourage free movement and provides mild resistance to help build muscle strength. Immersing in warm water raises the body temperature, causing blood vessels to dilate and increase circulation. Muscles become relaxed to facilitate movement. Join us on Thursdays. No swimming skills needed.

The YMCA Swim Lessons uphold children's health and safety by teaching them how to swim. Knowing how to swim is an asset that will benefit a person for the rest of his/her life. The YMCA Swim Lessons teach positive values and gives kids the opportunity to practice them - promoting the kids' growth in social skills, self-esteem, self-worth and, of course, swimming skills. Most of all, they will have a great time. We build strong kids, strong families and strong communities, and here we do it in the water! All pre-school classes are 30 minutes, and all youth classes are 40 minutes. Parents are invited to watch the lesson, but only from our observation area.
The Aquatics Department reserves the right to cancel or combine classes with low enrollment.
